DeBoer inherited team that was 4-8 before he took over. It’s now 24-2 since then and 9-0 against ranked opponents and headed to the playoff.

If you get the right guy, results usually follow.

In four seasons, Hafley has defeated three FBS teams with winning records. That’s it. Comically-tragically 2/3 wins were last year during BCs 3-9 season.

That means in Hafley’s three “good” years, he has one (1) win over a team with a winning record.

Hafley has found a new way to be the worst head coach in BC history. Cant’t recruit; cant’t coach, can’t win and has players with no discipline.

While other reasons may be given, BC’s dismal three game losing streak at the end of the regular season appears to have spooked the recruits. It will be interesting to see how it will effect our signing of transfers.

While I was originally a big Hafley supporter, I have real trouble seeing how this ends well for him or BC. While there are an unlimited supply of transfers, I can’t imagine how we would be many recruits first choice. BC is unlikely to win more than three or four games next year and Hafley is likely to lose his job. Who would want to join our team under these circumstances?

I would imagine that Blake James is pondering how and when to fire Hafley. Despite our five game win streak, our losing the last three games and the ineptitude BC showed in doing so, make James' decision obvious. Below are the seven reasons the decision must be made:

1) A year ago, Hafley's decision to not go into the transfer portal.

2) This year, hiring exclusively from within after losing his Offensive and Defensive Coordinators.

3) The poor play of the defense the last two years despite it purportedly being Hafley's forte.

4) The inability to recruit competitively the last two years.

5) Continually being out-coached by opponents both prior to and during games.

6) Looking ahead, how unlikely it is that things will get better.

7) And finally, since James didn't hire Hafley, he does not have any particular loyalty to him.

Anyone know how BC's works? Obviously we know a couple of guys got cars, but does this model work? Appeal to portal-ees?

I truly ask what does Grant see in Madsen to play him during the crucial moments of the game. I don't get it. Prince was playing really well but instead Grant went with Madsen when Vandy was making a comeback. It was noticeable that MM wasn't pulling his weight during the last 5 min of the game. God give me strength!

The portal mentality is anathema to Leahy. Portal will be chock full of "academic risks" which Leahy detests and is reticent to take on as his 1st year as president coincided with the JOB mess. I can't see Leahy greenlighting a class of 20+ kids from the portal.
