Understatement certainly but off the top of my head, it starts with BOB.
He is an offensive guy, a lot of the blame is going on Lawing HOF handpicked OC. I imagine BOB has input on the offense. There is no system or identity. I thought they wanted to be a running offense. They get away from it, and as cited here numerous times, specifically Ward. The personnel packages are confusing. Why so much Montague, why no Bradley at the end, or at all. The plays to Bond aren’t working.
I thought there was a lot of talent in the WR room. Either they aren’t as good as we thought or they can’t get schemed to get open but they were the worst positional unit on the field tonight, special teams excepted. Couldn’t get open all night.
They just didn’t seem to have a plan in place on how to play with a big lead, and certainly no plan on how to run a 2 min offense. That looked deploreable.
Operations at the end of the half continues to stink. Given their passing limitations tonight I don’t strongly disagree with them sitting on it. However they did a brutal job managing it. They could have run the clock out before running the third down play. Instead they snap with about 10 seconds left. Makes no sense. You are running a dive. You are not trying to score. Why risk (a) a turnover, or (b) Louisville calling a timeout and making your Barnum & Bailey punt team come on. Which Loiusville absolutely should have done.
The punting was awful by BC tonight, but equally bad by Loiuisville.
Huge penalty on Montague kick return. Instead of the 40, it goes to our 10. We punt. They get good field position, and score a TD.
When Louisville jumped offside on our punt and it went from 3rd and 6 to 3rd and one, I think because we were at our own 30, I still think we should have punted, but I don’t think BOB has a chance to even think about things because he was too busy red assing the ref.
He needs to be a lot better at the fine coaching details. A lot better.
