Portal in vs Portal out

Now granted the overwhelming response is that all the players aside from about 6-7 of them can leave, the team was awful, however I wonder what the boards position is as we sit here today as to whether BC will eventually break about even, be big or small losers or big or small winners in the portal.

How will the talent of the players leaving rate be the talent of the players coming?

This may not be fair but how will BC rate in terms of which school are kids coming from vs which schools they are going to. An example is if BC’s only defensive backfield transactions(I understand it won’t be) is Maitre to FSU and the kid from Harvard to BC, I will rate it poorly.

Positionally how will BC do? Obviously they need multiple OL, LB and DL. iF get 3 tight ends and 1 OL, and 1 DL and lose 2-3 mote OL and DL, I will rate them poorly.

Thoughts?

Satterfield

From Louisville, leaving to take 6 year deal with Cincy. Must be the job security because he always seemed to be on the edge at the Ville. I thought he had a very good recruiting class, we will see what happens. Louisville seems to pay real money for their program, my guess is they will go big name hunting for their next coach.

Never a great look for the Conference when your coach leaves for a job in a lesser conference.

The Athletic Grades for 2022 Season

Ouch

Boston College: F

Boston College had plans to crack the Top 25 this year and blend in with the rest of the ACC contention hopefuls, outside of Clemson. But the Eagles’ offensive line broke down before the season began, and starting quarterback Phil Jurkovec suffered multiple injuries (before transferring to Pitt in December). The fact that head coach Jeff Hafley needed a “vote of confidence” from his athletic director said a lot. Somehow the Eagles still notched one-point wins over Louisville and NC State amid their 3-9 finish. It’s not clear which loss was harder to process: the 44-0 blowout at Notre Dame or the 13-3 defeat at UConn. Boston College has many questions to answer this offseason. — Pete Sampson

Hafley Zoom PPD Tuesday; answers will have to wait

Appreciate all the feedback when I asked for questions last week. Unfortunately, BC announced today coach won't be speaking tomorrow because of "recruiting and travel" conflicts. They're trying to reschedule, but he may not speak until signing day on 12/21. I don't think any staff changes are coming in the mean time and I - like many of you - want to know what he has to say about Jurkovec. Hopefully, these next few weeks provide a bit of clarity around what 2023 could look like, but I doubt it.
