USA Lacrosse Magazine has published its preseason picks for the Top 25 teams in WLAX for the 2024 season--Northwestern at #1, followed by BC, North Carolina, Denver and Syracuse. Nice to have BC in the conversation for Top 25 and National Championships. BC men's hockey should be returning to greatness, with their spectacular incoming recruiting class. They'll be tested early with the opener at defending National Champion Quinnipiac. Cutter Gauthier will be getting help from three other first round NHL picks and lots of other future pro players.

At this time next week I will be on the Mass Turnpike headed to Chestnut Hill! Can't wait!

Hello all,

My name's Kevin Stone and as I'm sure you've all seen by now, I have taken over Andy Backstrom's role with Eagle Action. While I think it's virtually impossible to replace Andy's production, I am certainly going to try to continue giving folks here the best BC coverage possible.

A quick summary of me and my experience: I was/am born & raised in Waltham, MA & a die hard New England sports fan. I began freelancing in August of 2008. and my first ever gig was covering a team from Palo Alto, CA in the Babe Ruth World Series here in Quincy, MA. From there, I began covering high school and college games for The Daily News Tribune (Waltham, MA) and various Patch.com sites. I covered Norwood High School (Norwood, MA) extensively for a few years at The Norwood Record before getting a job with The Metro West Daily News in 2012.

I wrote for the Metro West until 2020 until myself, John Sarianidies and Adam Kurkjian started New England Football Journal in February of 2021. We currently cover 16 D1 schools (FCS & FBS), high schools in six states and the New England Patriots. I also still do freelance work for Hockey Night in Boston, Boston Lax and the Boston Globe.

Looking forward to interacting with all of you moving forward not just for football season but (hopefully) with some of the athletic programs as well. I'll be hopping on here Saturday during the NC State game for my first game day Eagle Action experience, take it easy on the rookie!

Watched the first two episodes.These series do a great job illustrating, how insane the SEC is! If you are not an Urban fan, no way will you like him any more after this show. The staff trying to bring out the “dog” in players will sound familiar. Dazo was unfortunately to stupid and inept to execute. Charlie Strong(DC), Mullen(OC) and two other staff members went on to be head coaches. The environment in the program was beyond toxic, I’m guessing the next few shows will focus on the players inability to contain their “dog.”

Any informed speculation about his recovery and projected return?

I met him last night while out to dinner. Great guy and wonderful young family. Seems great.

I don’t think it dissolves anytime soon due to the GOR. However, ND could save it. I’m sure they have no interest but wanted to get a discussion going. Payouts based on winning percentage and I have to believe this gets a new tv contract. Add West Virginia and UConn and call it a day. I think the other two would sign up immediately. Also, ND may have to join a conference at this point

Had to have a little bit of fun with the guys on Media Day too. Asked a bunch of them what rating they'd give themselves in the new version of NCAA Football and also asked them what their go-to teams are in Madden...
