The Globe reported today on the basis of BC's tax filings that Addazio has a yearly salary of $2.6MM, which places him behind only Jimbo, Dabo, and Bobby Petrino in the ACC. He makes the same as Beamer does. In addition, BC appears to hold the mortgage on his house, and finances a country club membership for him --- which mitigate, at least in part, any cost of living disparities between Boston and, say, Blacksburg.
That is a financial commitment to the football program far beyond what I had thought, in light with what posters like eagle28 have suggested. Setting aside for a moment the whole issue of BC paying its coach $2.6MM while casting a vote against cost of living payments for its student athletes, that's a good sign for BC's commitment to remain competitive at this level.
