60 Years Ago Today

President Kennedy assassinated in Dallas. I was in first grade at St Joseph's Elementary School. Mother Superior knocked on the door, Sister Theresa James stepped out and came back in the room crying. She told us the President had been shot and school was being dismissed. As a young child I was happy about early dismissal. My parents kept me in for most of weekend to watch the funeral. Like many here I still have the "Torch Has Passed" book. Might have been a Life Magazine piece documenting the events. My first life experience where I know where I was when it happened.

The JZ Question

There has been a lot of discussion about JZ and his role and value to the team. The Citadel game more or less proved he is the number 2 player on the team right now and will continue to be important for the team's success this year.

The question has become how well can he play in the ACC league games. I think JZ can remain extremely important to the team in ACC play. With Post being able to stretch the court and most likely taking the rim protector with him, it opens up JZ's back-to-the-basket game. He is fairly strong and can use this game against guards that might be more athletic than he. Some of the shots he sank at Citadel (such the one at the end of the game with his right hand coming from the left lane) indicate he has some nice moves. With his his 3 pt shot, and the potential of at least one other 3 pt threat (Hand), he might remain a 2nd or 3rd scoring threat the team needs on offense. Last year opposing defenses just stayed in the paint against BC and this aspect of this game and his driving was not effective. Threats from the 3 might change that...

Game 4: Harvard @ BC 11/18 5pm

ESPN+/ACCNX
Line BC -5.5

Official arklj homage BC placed. BC - 10.5 (+205).

On a scale of Duke to Central Connecticut, where does this fall for must wins? Solid 8.5 out of 10. Wouldn't be crippling. Harvard might be decent with that frosh guard but losses like this would lower margin of error in conference.

Prediction. Harvard shooting 43% from three. Opponents shooting 29%. That seems unsustainable and driving some easy wins. I think we win by double digits unless there is something like that in the three point shooting.
