Lady Eags open up late this afternoon before the mens game with a game against Harvard. Really big year for Coach McNamee and the direction of this program.
In 2020, the team ended the season red hot and were likely to be included in the NCAA tourney field after dumping a very good Duke team in the ACC tourney...and then COVID hit.
2021 was an abject failure and mostly unexpected. They lost a few bodies but had an experienced team with 5 juniors starting who had all been with the program for a few years. They flopped. They went 7-11 and finished last in the ACC. They were blown out in most of their league games. Stunning collapse. Coach McNamee had been a rising star in the profession, now she needs to get the Eagles back on track. same 5, now all seniors will start on a roster that looks about 8-9 deep.
Eagles are led by one of the best players in their programs history in Taylor Soule. She is incredible. Can do it all. Shoot, score, handle it rebound, pass and defend. Has all of the tools. Really fun to watch play.
ESPN posted their mock bracket this morning, and BC as expected is nowhere near it. They also posted their top 25 players and 25 others receiving consideration and Taylor Soule wasnt even mentioned. I think she is inside the top 25, but this program has fallen and maybe she is suffering because of it. She should play with a chip on her shoulder.
