I'm told that in total there were 23 players there. As we've said, smaller and more targeted by design so each player and whatever family member, coach, etc., traveling with them could get maximum attention and a personalized experience. Yes, 23 leaves four that I haven't uncovered yet, but still digging. The above players are certainly a good representation and my two cents is that the group you see above is, player for player, very impressive. Not the five-star or four-star talents, but mostly Power Five players who they know have interest in BC.

There was a player panel featuring Kam Moore, Connor Strachan, Truman Gutapfel, Elijah Robinson and Chris Lindstrom. Pretty diverse set of experiences, backgrounds, etc., and the recruits and those accompanying were able to ask whatever questions of those players that they wanted, and that was without any of the BC coaches there.

They didn't shy away from BC's identity. The recruits I spoke with were very impressed with the academic presentation.

I've also heard from some recruits, etc., that the athletics director laid out some big plans for the football program, but they've kept quiet the details.

Sources have said that a lot of the guys visiting really showed up physically impressive.

Stueber was "once just a big guy," he's really developed himself, toned his body and is looking like a Power Five lineman. Melifonwu is one who was singled out as being impressive.

Devan Lawson of Spring Valley is one that I've really heard good things about. One source told me that Spring Valley and that part of New York is really overlooked because the assumption is everyone from there just ends up going to the local three in New Jersey -- Bergen Catholic, Don Bosco and St. Joseph's. I'm hearing that Lawson and Jean-Charles did in fact take that private school route initially, before turning to Spring Valley and New York's public path. Because of that, BC sources believe, they've been written off or overlooked, and they think at least Lawson is a fantastic looking kid.

I also asked which kids seemed like they had the best time. "Lot of them," but a few singled out: Paul Theobald, Devan Lawson, Ben Petrula.

Apparently folks got a good vibe from Petrula, which is key as he's one of their top line recruits. The only thing is he didn't really connect with any of the St. Peter's guys already up there, but there will be time for that.

It was Lawson's birthday and the coaches made sure to recognize him for that and he seemed to appreciate it, from what I've heard.

And Theobald actually showed up in Boston College apparel. Apparently Anthony Campanile's older brother is the head coach at Seton Hall Prep and the vibe folks got was that Theobald really is a good fit.

I asked about how everyone felt about AJ Dillon, the big-time running back (a big need of course) and whether he was tough to read. He's not tough to read, apparently, and he does like BC. It's just that as a 6-foot, 228-230 pound running back he knows he's going to be very highly recruited and doesn't want to rush things.
