BOSTON COLLEGE VS. RHODE ISLAND - ALL-TIME SERIES
  • Today's game marks the 55th meeting between the two schools.
  • Boston College is 38-16 all-time vs. Rhode Island, dating back to 1911
  • The two teams played twice last year, with the Rams going 2-0. In 2020-21, BC and Rhody met in Bubbleville; the Eagles won, 69-64.

  • Jaeden Zackery scored a season-high 16 points in Boston College's win over Wyoming at the Paradise Jam.
  • Zackery led all scorers, making all eight of his free throw attempts, and four of his nine shots from the floor.
  • Prior to the scoring outburst vs. Wyoming, he had tallied 11 points in his previous two games - including a season-low four points against Tarleton State, going without a field goal for the first time in his 39-game career.

DEVIN WITH A PUNCH OFF THE BENCH

  • The last player to post a similarly complete stat line - Steffon Mitchell against Duke (12p/5r/1a/1s/3b).
  • McGlockton is the first Boston College player in at least 26 years to post that stat line coming off the bench.

Rhode Island Visits Chestnut Hill Sunday to Face BC​


RHODE ISLAND VS. BOSTON COLLEGE - SERIES NOTES
  • Sunday's game will be the 55th meeting between Rhode Island and Boston College.
  • The Eagles lead the all-time series, 38-16.
  • Rhode Island has had the upper hand in recent years, winning the last two games in the series and five of the last six meetings overall.
  • The Rams are 7-17 overall when on the road against the Eagles
  • Last season, the teams met twice in a span of four days. Rhode Island won 57-49 at home in the Ryan Center on Nov. 17, then again 71-65 at the Sunshine Slam in Daytona, Fla. on Nov. 21.
  • Only four players on this year's roster - Malik Martin, Ishmael Leggett, Jalen Carey and Sebastian Thomas - played against Boston College last season.
  • Both teams are coming off three-game swings on foreign soil. Rhode Island was 1-2 at the Cayman Islands Classic, while BC was 2-1 at the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam.
  • Boston College has faced one other Atlantic 10 school this season, defeating George Mason 71-56 on Nov. 18.

HOMECOMING FOR RHODY ASSISTANT DUANE WOODWARD
  • Rhode Island assistant coach Duane Woodward played his collegiate ball from 1994-98 at Boston College.
  • A team captain for head coach Al Skinner in 1998, Woodward was a four-year starter for the Eagles.
  • The team made back-to-back NCAA tournaments in 1996 and 1997 during his time.
  • He started 113 of the 117 games he played and averaged 10.7 points 4.2 assists and 3.6 rebounds.
  • Woodward earned All-Big East Third Team honors in 1998 and All-Big East Tournament recognition in 1997.
  • Currently 30th in Boston College scoring history, Woodward is a member of BC's 1,000-point club, finishing with 1,249 points.
  • He also still ranks third in BC history with 204 steals and sixth with 488 assists.
  • Following his time at BC, Woodward had a long professional playing career that took him to 10 different countries 1998-2011.
  • He was a 2004 Eurobasket.com All-FIBA Europe League Player of the Year and also won back-to-back All-Cyprus League Player of the Year honors in 2003 and 2004.
  • Woodward's coach at BC, Al Skinner, was the head coach at Rhode Island before he took over at BC.
  • Woodward's younger brother, Brian Woodward, was a four-year starter at Rhode Island from 2000-04, scoring 1,215 points for head coaches Jerry DeGregorio and Jim Baron.
FREEMAN FINDS RHYTHM ON OFFENSE
  • Sophomore guard Brayon Freeman found his game during the Cayman Islands Classic, scoring in double figures in each of the three games.
  • Freeman had 11 points against Kansas State, 18 against Tulane and a career-high 21 points in the win over Illinois State.
  • Freeman had just four points combined in the first two games of the season and then was held out of the win over Stony Brook in order to get a reset.
  • With his performance in the Cayman Islands, Freeman is averaging 10.8 points per game.
  • He also is shooting .875 at the free throw line (14-of-16).
