They have a commitment from near five-star receiver Scott Bracey and four-star tight end Mark Birmingham, both of Virginia. Those are the kinds of players that normally headline classes at UVa and UNC. And for BC, the issue is Duke offers a very similar elite academic/private school experience, though in a different part of the country.
Also, here's a weird dynamic. It seems as though Duke is actually benefiting from being awful for many decades. The results on the field for BC and Duke have actually been more similar than different since Addazio took over, but because Duke was Duke for decades, it feels like their current success is even more than it's been.
