Here's what I know about Perry's recruitment behind the scenes a bit.

He is a guy who they have liked for a long time. As I've mentioned, he was apparently top 5-6 on Scot Loeffler's board.

However, Perry still needed to earn his by working out so the BC coaches could evaluate him. I've heard that Loeffler and Brian White both went out to evaluate Perry on Friday and they both really liked what they saw. I'm told he earned his scholarship the "old fashioned way," by going out and proving it in-person.

That Perry's a local kid is always nice. They know a lot about him even though Perry did not camp at BC last sumer.

"He's a local kid and you can't go without know who he is," I was told today. "Everybody in the state knew who he was."

His uncles have reputations as good football guys and coaches. Perry is a three-sport star who's a captain with basketball, baseball and also football. That he's a proven leader and a great competitor is another thing they like about him, and believe those intangibles are going to be especially important in a QB.

Andover throws the ball 30-35 times some games so BC has plenty to look at and evaluate him on. He's a good athlete, not a burner. He comes from a Shotgun/spread system and one with some common principles.

I'm told that they wouldn't have taken him if they didn't like him, and they could have continued to wait on some other guys that were viable options.
