New Hampshire quarterback Drew McQuarrie told me this weekend that he will be camping at Boston College this coming Saturday. That's June 18, and that's the first day of BC's summer camp season.
The camps are always important for BC, perhaps more than for most other schools. But in McQuarrie's case the camp takes on supreme significance, at least as it relates to his chances with the Eagles. There is, perhaps, another quarterback spot available, he's one of several players they're looking at, and he probably needs to have a good day to move firmly into the 'take' category -- at least as a quarterback.
I've mentioned that it's possible he could get a look at another position, but quarterback is still a distinct possibility at least to my understanding. Scot Loeffler reportedly really likes his size and what he can become, but he'll need to demonstrate that he's got the bare prerequisites in terms of mechanics, release and perhaps footwork, etc., to be the guy to take that all-important second QB spot.
