I am very happy with our fall recruits who BC signed but Girard will still be a good college player, plus younger brothers

It looks like 6'2 Joe Girard was on a mission to redeem himself after a subpar performance two days ago in today's first game of the day on the final day of action in this year's Culligan City of Palms Classic, which has held all this week at Florida Southwestern State College in Ft. Myers, FL. This was the Small Town Signature Series Consolation Bracket Championship Game and Girard not led his Glens Falls team to 80-65 win over Brunswick (H.S.) GA, but this prolific scoring 2-guard also came within two points of tying Kenny Boynton's all-time single game tournament scoring record of 61 points. And, in the process of scoring 59 points, Girard also had seven rebounds, four assists, and five steals and was 20-42 from the field, 11-29 from behind the ar, and 8-11 from the foul line. Needless to say, he claimed the first spot on the tournament's all-tournament team, which includes players in the 16-team tournament field and the Small Town Signature Series, but does not include players from any of the Sunshine Series Games. Remember, Girard also won the 3-point shooting contest on Wednesday night, but appeared to be tired and ran out of gas in his team's 78-56 loss against Petal (H.S.) MS on Thursday afternoon. Also chipping in with 16 points, 6-13 field goals, and 4-8 3-pointers was 5'6 Trenton Girard from Glens Falls (H.S.) NY, which means that this once again was a family affair, as somebody other than Girard only score five points for Glens Falls in this game.

from an earlier game

And an interesting side note is the fact that this team has more Girards than the Ball family has Balls, as is evident by the fact that his father (Joe Girard Sr) is the head coach of the team, Cam Girard is an assistant coach, Mark Girard is one of the scorekeepers, and 5'6 Trenton Girard and 5'9 Connor Girard are both players. And, despite Trenton's lack of size, he proved to be a pretty good shooter in his own right while getting more than his share ofopen looks en route to a 19-points, 7-15 field goals, and 4-12 3-pointers. When you also add Connor, who only played five minutes, scored two points, and was 1-3 from the field, into the equation, the three brothers combined to score 43 of their team's 56 points and took 39 of their team's 63 shots.
