Former Eagles Uka Agbai, Mark Molinsky, Malcolm Huckaby, Jon Beerbohm and Derrick Knight were present for the meet and greet.

Jarmond was introduced by Molinsky. Jarmond talked about the hoop team’s wins in Florida. Said the team was coming together and playing well. He felt good about the upcoming game and don’t email him to fire Jim if they lose.

He talked about the launch of the ACC network next year. Each school will be responsible for producing the games on campus. BC lost two suites and half of the Shea Room for production facilities. Last night was the first dry run. The game was produced by BC. If we watch a recording of the game and it’s awful send him an email. But he said it should be fine. BC hired 12 new employees for producing the games.

He then asked for questions. The first question was about a practice facility for hoop. Jarmond says that they are looking at all options. His preference is for something connected to Conte. Probably where the circle is out front to the loading dock area. He said that problem with adding on to an existing building in Boston is that it will cost $100M. A stand-alone facility will cost $50M, but it makes more sense to connect it to Conte. It will cost $30M to renovate Conte. Moving Men’s and women’s hoop to their own practice facility will free up space for other sports.

He’s looking at building a hockey facility in Brighton. Jerry won’t be there for ten more years and needs to make sure hockey stays at a high level.

The next question was about hoop scheduling. Jarmond said that Dan McDermott would be able to answer the question better than him, but Dan had already left. There was a follow up complaint about BC only having one Saturday afternoon game at home and five on the road. Jarmond replied that BC has no input on the ACC schedule. They only give the ACC a list of dates that Conte is available. After the hoop schedules are set then BC gives dates to Hockey East.

The next question was “why doesn’t BC have a track & field facility?” I’m not kidding. Jarmond’s response was that he looks at projects with ROI in mind. The revenue sports come first - football, basketball and hockey. He added “Honestly, track is low on the list of priorities.”

The next guy started his question with “There has been a lot of rumors and speculation online on the boards”. I figured he comes the Daz question, but he wanted to know about the bowl game.

Jarmond says that he doesn’t pay attention to the boards. He has tunnel vision and is focused on his job.

Jarmond said that in the Big 10 every team is slotted, but in the ACC there are tiers. He didn’t realize this last year and thought the ACC would tell them where they were going. He didn’t realize that he needed to work the phones. Daz got a call last year from the Pinstripe asking why his AD hadn’t callec them. Jarmond’s been working the phones the past few days. Sun Bowl was in town Saturday. It sounds like that is his preference. He said that he will say no to Detroit.

At this point the event was winding down so I yelled out “what about the other rumors about Coach Addazio?” Jarmond didn’t reply then a guy in the center of the room said “you didn’t answer the second question. Maybe you didn’t hear it.” He asked about the Daz rumors. Jarmond replied “what about Steve? He’s from CT. The team is 7-5. They are going to a bowl.” He repeated that he doesn’t pay attention to “the boards”. That pretty much ended the event.
