Is it coincidence BC came back from 19 points for an ACC when I don't post a game thread? We'll see!
Time: Noon
TV: ESPNU
Line: GT -7.5
Kenpom: GT 78- BC 71
What I am looking for: For the first time in a month or so, I don't have a dopey conflict so I am looking forward to the torture of watching the whole game.
Will bshay21 bet this?: Of course.
Bet: BC moneyline. +270. One unit.
Year Long BC basketball betting record: (4-11). +2.00 units. Halftime +575 moneyline vs Miami keeps the miracle of making money off BC basketball alive!
Why?: I will bet it. Probably the BC moneyline which should be around +200-+250. Trying to figure out the why will be harder.
(New Feature!) Stat that will give you optimism or hurt your brain depending on how you look at it: Gotta start with a classic. Chas Kelley. BC played 14 lineups with at least one possession against Miami. Six of the 14 were outscored. Kelley was in five of them. Are we happy with nine minutes rather than 25? Yes. Can you lose games when you aren't loaded with talent by leaking points through the game with a bad rotation. Yes. BC outscored GT by 21 points in 31 minutes without CK on the floor. He seems like a nice kid. I feel like I was a nice kid (well, mostly) and JOB wasn't giving me a scholarship and minutes despite my silky plex jumper. My lateral burst on defense was measured in days and clipping the backboard in HS layup lines with my hand was the peak of my vertical burst. BC has outscored its ACC opponents (this year!!) by two points with him off the floor. Luka is +10 points in ACC play with 98th percentile rating. Give him all the minutes despite trouble with on ball defense. Their defense is 96th percentile in ACC play with him on the floor so something is working. Most likely zero mental mistakes that make up for it.
One last quick one. BC has played 120 minutes of ACC ball. 205 possessions. We only have three lineups that have played 20+ possessions together. None 30 or more. I think this kills this team. As one of the last flex believers, one of the reasons it was so great was Al played those same lineups all the time together. If you don't make that elbow pass a thousand times to the same person, you don't know his tendencies. Or the back cuts or any of the derivations that came out of the basic flex. This drives me nuts.
