LETS PLAY A LITTLE LONGER
Fairfield suffered two overtime losses to Boston College, including an 81-79 loss on January 15, 1997 when BC was a nationally ranked (top 25 team). Fairfield also lost to BC in OT on Dec. 19, 1981 (79-73).
BC'S LOSS ONE FOR THE BOOKS
In the 150th game in Conte Forum history (1/28/1998) Boston College suffered one of the worst defeats in program history at the hands of the Fairfield Stags. Fairfield forced 32 turnovers (a Boston College Team Record) in a game where Fairfield was credited with 17 steals (one short of a team record). Amazing, despite themselves committing 29 turnovers, Fairfield managed to eek out 75-70 victory. We will see if Fairfield can duplicate the 1998 effort in their return to Conte Forum.
NIT FOES
On March 18, 2003 Fairfield and Boston College faced off in an NIT Battle in Bridgeport, CT. Fairfield was victimized by torrid Boston College shooting, with the Eagles shooting well over 50% from the floor including 8-15 from beyond the arc. Fairfield suffered a 90-78 defeat. Boston College went on to lose to Temple in the second round.
BLOCK HEAD
With his 3 blocks against ODU Jonathan Kasibabu moved into 8th place on the all-time blocks list at Fairfield surpassing Drew Henderson.
DYNAMIC DUO
BC’s Ky Bowman is one of the Nation's Most Dynamic Guards. He is averaging more than 19 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 0.8 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game. His running mate Wynston Tabbs is the only freshman nationally to average 14.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.3 steals/game.
REBOUNDING MAN
With his 15 boards against ODU, Jonathan Kasibabu matched his career high of 15. Previously Kasibabu had secured 15 caroms twice before first versus Sacred Heart and most recently versus Quinnipiac.
NO LONGER PERFECT
With his 1-2 performance from the foul line Jesus Cruz’s consecutive foul shots made streak ended at 16. Cruz came short of matching the Stags consecutive free throws made record of 34, a record that is shared by Yorel Hawkins and Tyler Nelson. Butler's Darnell Archey holds the NCAA record of 85 consecutive made free throws.

Worst Season Starts in Program History
With the loss at ODU the Stags start a season 2-8 for the 2nd time in the Sydney Johnson era. Fairfield has never started a season with a record of worse than 2-8. Here are the other seasons that Fairfield started 2-8 along with the team’s record at the end of each of those seasons.
2-8 Seasons
1983-84 (10-18) O’connor
1987-88 (8-20) Buonguoro
1991-92 (8-20) Cormier
2006-07 (13-19) Cooley
2007-08 (14-16) Cooley
2013-14 (7-25) Johnson
2018-19 (?-??) Johnson
It’s interesting to note that no team that started 2-8 finished the season with an above 500 record.
Editors note: Fairfield also started 2-8 during 1949-50 before Fairfield was a division 1 program
HEARD BUT PROBABLY NOT TRUE

Coach Buonguoro not really 6’1” as listed on the BC Eagle 1975 Roster

While it seems inexplicable, Mitch Buonaguro recently discovered that he is two inches shorter than he was during his prime playing days at Boston College back in 1975. “While it doesn't seem possible that I could be any shorter,” Buonaguro stated, "ever since the end of the age of disco, I just don't seem as tall."

Indeed in looking at photos of Buonaguro it is hard to discern any difference in his height. Buonaguro was listed at 6'1" on the 1975 Boston Eagles Roster. With apologies to Mitch Buonaguro
TRACKING JONATHAN
