Time for the annual. I am usually less optimistic than most 10-2 predictions, but truthfully, I think I like this team, and the schedule sets up nicely. Without further adu...da, here goes:

1. BC 61- Colgate 7. Colgate goes up 7-0, Duda yells at his kids and sends them to the concession stands. By the time they get back, Duda is out $60, but has calmed down. BC has rebounded to lead 21-7, and takes a 38-7 lead into the tunnel. Walkover game. Plenty of playing time for everyone. 300 plus on the ground. 1-0

2. BC 48- Umass 13. I just noticed that this game is at Umass. What is going on here? Why are we going to McGuirk. Most say you see dramatic improvement between games 1-2. Duda doesnt see it. relatively flat game. 20-10 at the half. Too many penalties. BC rolls in second half, never to step foot in Amherst again. 2-0.

3. BC 45-Temple 10. Blowout. 21-3 at end of first quarter as BC scores on offense, defense and special teams to open it up. Duda wondering if there is a conspiracy here, as Bill Cosby was his graduation speaker, now he gets out of jail, and BC plays his two schools back to back... Pedestrian numbers to this point for Jurk, mostly because BC is running at will through 3 games. 3-0. Bc ranked 24 in country.

4. Mizzou 34-BC 30. Duda's middle child has confirmation on this day, so earphones in Aisle 5, Pew 3 will surely be a talking point with the family after the religious occassion. As will BC's late game meltdown. BC controls most of the game, but cant convert touchdowns, and turnovers are a problem. BC leads by 3 late, but cant run out the clock, and gives Mizzou the ball back, who then proceeds to hit a long pass(shades of FSU) for 6, as BC suffers a crushing loss. 3-1

5. Clemson 45-BC 17. BC will not be sneaking up again on Clemson, as the Eagles invade Death Valley for the 8th year in a row. Clemson is class above, and jumps out on BC, who never recovers. Oline issues are prevalent as Jurk takes a beating. BC cant stop the run either, or the pass in this game, but run defense is a glaring issue. Duda hates the swarmy Dabo, but acknowledges that this is men against boys. 3-2 (0-1)

6. BC 30-NC St 24. Season in the balance. Down 17-6 at the half, BC comes flying back in the second half, to rescue their season and a late red zone stands seals the victory. Good victory on both sides of the ball. Jurk sensational late, and d emerges. Duda disappears from the board all week after he sees a Monday morning post from PG, Stating TOB should be in the BC and NCST HOF. 4-2(1-1)

7. BC 40-Louisville 33(OT) The annual Louisville and Wake games cause Duda to double down on the zoloft every year and this year is no different. BC D cant contain Louisville speed at wideout and on the perimeter leading to a shootout. BC can run all day on Louisville, but Haf likes to toss it around the yard, causing some second guessing on this board. Screen pass to Sinkfield in OT gets the Eagles in, and a tipped interception seals it. Big win, 5-2(2-1)

8. BC 44 Cuse 20: Depressing place. BC plays fatigued first half. Syracuse is flying all over the field. 13-13 at half. Duda stopped eating oranges after the Everett Express ruined his best opportunity to see BC in a BCS game in person, and now enjoys the stomping of the Orangemen. Duda exhaults...at least until basketball season. 6-2(3-1)

9. BC 31 VT 13. Final days of Fuentes are winding down. BC drags VT all over the field. Kicking game woes prevent this from being a bigger margin of victory. BC defense coming together. Well balanced team. Duda sits in same seats as when Mike Vick ran around, through, and over BC, in the greatest individual performance by a n opponent that Duda has seen live at the Heights. 7-2 (4-1). BC ranked 22 in country.

10. GT 23-BC 20. Because we cant have nice things. Heavy rains are the story of this game, as is BC' s kindness is gifting GT the ball. Oline struggles again, and BC is upset by the up and coming, athletic yellow jackets. Avoidable loss. BC board meltdown. Eagles not ready to make the big leap. Duda yells at kids again, but this time they dont get $60. 7-3 (4-2)

11. BC 24- FSU 20. BC struggles in a GT hangover game. FSU gets to the quarterback, but BC defense keeps them in it, in a listless first half. BC does enough to win, which is all that matters, though style points are at a minimum. Duda thinks Allen Iverson would have been a better two sport star than Charlie Ward. 8-3 (5-2)

12. BC 40- Wake 27. These games never go to script, and I believe the road team has won the last 6 games or so, but BC clicks all over the field on offense, in a fairly comfortable handling of a solid Deacs team. Duda again takes a one week hiatus from the board after seeing 8 new threads started with Riley Skinners snake... 9-3 (6-2). BC ends regular season ranked number 22 in country, and has hopes on a nice rewarding bowl game, only to end up playing in Fenway against a run of the the mill SMU team at 11:00 am on Dec. 29.
