We're debating whether or not football and basketball (and others) should be paid. Should there be a salary cap or let the free market sort it out? One poster was mentioning that a contract from LSU would surely be worth more than a contract from BC.

In that sense, why don't universities float their tuition prices based on the free market? Harvard could charge $100k tomorrow and not lose a single applicant. Why are prices lumped together so tightly.

Harvard costs the same as BC/BU/Northeastern/Tufts/pick a school. Are they the same value? Of course not.

My point being that higher education is losing complete grip with reality - not just D1 college sports.
