ESPN ran an insider story yesterday illustrating how Stanford views its high admissions selection criteria and academic standards to be a competitive advantage. That's good. Last night night, by coincidence, the ND spin machine put this piece out for its rabid fan base's consumption.

Brian Kelly is making an extremely weak attempt to cover his butt by using the age-old and standard ND spin excuse when he senses he is under performing at his job.
Here is how his quote should have read: "I know it looks bad that I had five players on my roster last season that are being investigated for academic fraud, Everett Golson made six, but seriously and in all honesty it’s not my fault or theirs; the high academic standards at ND are a bit$h and that make it much more difficult for me to compete...and that is the reason for my continued failure."
