B10 will phase out any of these games starting in 2016 but will honor signed contracts which is fair to the Howards and Maines of the world and gives the B10 time to reset their future games. Good for them! Their Comm wants stronger schedules for the playoff and bowl game chances of the schools. I would guess the guaranteed money given to these FCS teams and the empty seats in the stadiums and overall lack of interest by fans in these games also counted. I know we didn't sell out any games last year but 15 thousand empty seats in Alumni/no excitement in our fan base or in the media/and sending the Black Bears back to Maine with a check isn't good. My nightmare is that every once in a while BC puts together a great season and by playing these games it could cost us a playoff spot or a major bowl.
