Boston College already landed one four-star Class of 2023 cornerback, and the Eagles are in the running for another.
Rodrick Pleasant from Junipero Serra in Gardena, California, unveiled his top six Thursday. That list includes BC. The only other East Coast school included is Penn State. Meanwhile, the other four schools are Cal, Oregon, USC and UCLA.
Pleasant took an official visit to BC in June. He was one of at least 19 official visitors on the Heights the weekend of June 10-12. Pleasant was actually the highest-rated recruit visiting BC back then. He is the No. 113 overall prospect in the Class of 2023, just outside the Rivals100.
Pleasant is also the No. 15 overall cornerback this cycle and the 10th best prospect in California, as he boasts a 5.9 Rivals Rating.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound defensive back announced his top 13 in February. Georgia, Texas, Michigan, Utah, Arizona, Ole Miss and Colorado made that list but nab a spot in Pleasant's top six.
Pleasant is slated to visit Oregon later this summer, according to Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Adam Gorney.
Pleasant is projected to play corner in college, but he's been spotted all over the field at Junipero Serra. In addition to cornerback, he's lined up at nickel, kick returner, running back and wide receiver.
He's a track runner, too. Pleasant posted a 10.14-second 100-meter dash this year, which broke the state record.
If BC were to land a commitment from Pleasant, the Eagles would add to an already deep class of defensive backs.
The Eagles have three defensive back commits this cycle, not to mention two committed "athletes" who have experience in the secondary.
This comes on the heels of a season in which BC ranked third nationally in pass defense.
