Good stuff by a poster named Mitch on EO....

Team Defense:

+ More athletic
+ Better length on the wings
+ Solid Effort to Make the First Shot Miss

- Not enough ball pressure
- Help Defense, especially Inside Help and Rotations Need to Quicken
- Giving Up Way Too Many Offensive Rebounds/2nd & 3rd Chances
- Foul Prone, Especially Inside and on Drives
- 1-2-1-1 Press is Token Pressure, Needs Amping Up

Team Offense:

+ Good Ball Movement
+ Decent Spacing
+ Decent Jumpshooting
+ Decent Pick and Rolls

- Too Unselfish At Times
- Need Stronger Drives and Finishes At The Rim
- Little to No Effort on Offensive Rebounds
- Need Stronger Post Play
- Need Much Stronger Free Throw Percentage

Personnel:

G---Eli Carter---was off the solid start and has tailed off in intensity and enthusiasm over the last few games---looks somewhat out of shape---doesn't generate good ball pressure---doesn't crowd a hot shooter----is trying to be a distributer and has been very good at dishing on the pick and roll, and driving and kicking the ball---good rebounder---could be more assertive on fast breaks---has good range and good shot rotation---needs to be played in spurts as he was at Florida---lacks stamina.

G---Jerome Robinson---good length and feel for game---very versatile---solid handle, good passer, good rhythm and form on his shots and free throws---needs to drive the ball more regularly and with greater authority---needs to get more physical---works hard on defense and will box out---has good basketball instincts---has leadership potential.

G---Matt Milon---excellent lefty shooter with very good range----works hard---has been a step slow on defense thus far, but knows his slides and rotations---didn't play much last night, not sure why, he should be getting at least 20 minutes a game---excellent at the free throw line---decent passer---not a smooth handler yet, but he plays within himself.

G---Sammy Barnes-Thompkins---aggressive player on both ends---plays with emotion----looks to score---looks to take the charge, but needs to rotate faster---needs a little more snap on his shot, but it's starting to take form---needs to develop a drive and finish or dish game---looks to box out---seems well coached and not overwhelmed.

F---A.J. Turner---has skills as a shooter and can take his man off the dribble---not a banger yet, but works hard and likes to compete---needs to crash the boards, has decent length---looks smooth at the foul line---nice touch---with his length he could start wreaking havoc in the passing lanes---needs to be more assertive.

F---Ervins Meznieks---tough competitor---takes the charge---good baseline/corner jump shot---good form---works hard on defense---will get physical when need be---not a great athlete, but has good basketball instincts.

F---Garland Owens---superb athlete---quick on the baseline---can finish strong at the rim when he gets a crease---reaches far too much on defense---doesn't box out high enough---gets outplayed inside---is not a 4 man on either end of the court---questionable ball handling and passing skills---subpar basketball instincts---can be dynamic on the break, if he would assert that aspect of his game more---can hammer home alley oops.

F---Johncarlos Reyes---good length and decent strength for a freshman---not skilled around the basket, but exerts himself---works hard on defense---needs stronger positioning on post defense and in blocking out---a bit of a project, but could develop into solid sub role.

C---Dennis Clifford---works hard---is an improved post defender---can pop out and shoot a little---not skilled around the basket because he is too slow off the floor---but, he plays hard and is a solid anchor on defense---good teammate---is unselfish---wants to win.

C---Idy Diallo---good physical presence---has some explosion---is working to improve his footwork and leverage on defense and thus cut down on fouls---can finish some around the basket---needs to assert himself on the offensive boards---has a good attitude---has started to improve.

Best Lineup and Rotation? Here's my opinion:

1---Robinson/Carter
2---Milon/Barnes-Thompkins/Robinson
3---Turner/Meznieks/Owens
4---Diallo/Meznieks/Reyes
5---Clifford/Diallo/Reyes
