It's almost surreal watching/reading about the excitement of major CFB each week; and Mark Richt's move to the U has sent shock waves around the ACC/SEC, which has added to the CFB craze. Meanwhile, at the "Lows", our news, the latest in the series of "just when you thought the program couldn't get worse", is about story #97 in CFB this week, since we're as irrelevant as any major CFB team is.
If one could have imagined that we'd be in this position after Matt Ryan dogged us into victory at VATech, after 56 minutes of sh*t football in the washout that night, or after he lead us to a thrilling victory at Clemson, I would have said you were on drugs...but, least we forget, "we are"...so, instead of building on the success of those years (if you recall, I stated several times that it was a perfect storm, as FSU and the U were down --- and ND for that matter --- so, we looked a bit better than we actually were...thus, we had to capitalize on our brief flash in the limelight, quickly, in terms of upgrading facilities/stepping up recruiting, etc), we've done just about everything wrong since then, whether by choice or fate (of course, starting with the Jags mess), to become a bottom feeder in CFB.
No easy answers here...we've allowed everyone pass us by. As most have stated, the President of our univ. could care less...he's a common thief in accepting the cheque given by our association in the ACC (I won't go so far as calling it participation); and, even if we step things up with a 10-15% effort, which I foresee, it's not going to solve the overall issues that the football program suffers from. The damage is far to great to put a few band aids here and there. UNLESS there are significant changes made, get uose to at least another 7 years of crap. I, for one, will simply enjoy 3 top programs that I enjoyed as a child, before I sent in my app to attend school at the "Lows"

Look at all the Titans sitting amongst the ACC these days. in the years to come, whomever emerges from this conference will be a battle-harden team. I can see years where 2 and possibly 3 ACC teams make it in.
