I feel that if Daz hadn't been given an extension in the offseason it would led be much easier to offload him, but hey, it was a move for stability.
I'm wondering what the stay/go threshold is for the 2016 season. How many wins, or what specific actions allow him to remain vs. how many losses force him out? I think attendance is going to be very ugly next season due to this offense and the schedule.
There are 4 (in a typical year) easy wins on the schedule, but with this year's performance I am not taking them for granted. This could be good if we build on them and beat our ACC opponents. But it could be bad if it results in an inflated record and Daz isn't actually progressing. I still think our most optimistic future is one where Daz does just well enough to be hired away, maybe as an assistant somewhere.
If I were the AD, I'd have the expectation for a turnaround be:
1) win a bowl game
2) marked improvement of the offense (at least 60-80 in the country vs dead last)
3) maintenance of the D at the same level or better than last year
I'm just not sure if Daz can pull it off.
