What is the actual rule for a pass completion?

Have not seen this discussed. My impression is that one must go to the ground and maintain possession. Where do the officials say did Smith not do this? One poster says he moved the ball when he tried to show it to the official. Do others agree? I saw him move the ball when he rolled over on his back, but not really lose control. Daz was asked his interpretation in the Monday presser, and ducked the issue. Said he was there to coach when asked if he would appeal to the ACC.

Is the rule any different in the end zone, since a touchdown is involved? Called more closely? Anyone seen comments from an objective source? Or, conversely, from the ACC.

Is this a hot issue only on this board?
