We need to take a play out of the Patriots playbook. No we don't have a Brady, Gronk or Edelmen. What we do have is a horrible offense line that is most likely going to get worse this week with a true freshmen starting who's not ready. We can't run block or pass block for the playaction passes we keep trying.
The only way I can see around it is put Flutie (because of the extra year in a college film room reading defense's not because Smith can't throw) in the shot gun and throw quick, short passes to our somewhat talented group of Rb's and wr's. I'm talking about one or two read plays, balls out in less then 1.5 seconds. 10 yards or less: slants, curls, rubs, short crossing patterns, bubble screens, rb screens, rb's in the flats. Get creative. Steal a bunch of NE's plays. Seriously. NIU would have no idea what the hell was going on after studying tape of the last year plus. It's something I think our Qb's can do, the line can handle and I think we have enough talent to make the catch and make a guy miss 30% of the time. Outlow, Swags, Smith, Willis, Dudek, Callahan all have the type of talent to make this work. I'd throw the ball 40 times this week. Once NIU starts coming out of there shock and makes some adjustments we can start hitting them with draws, wheel routs and stop and goes. Boom! BC scores 45 and wins big..............
