Seemed lackluster on paper. Ended up with:
Around the ACC:
- a BC win (mostly only pertinent here)
- a comical UCONN loss (same as above, plus Navy)
- ASU and TTU covering the over of 71 by halftime (nearly),
- perpetual EA mention Northwestern losing again, to an FCS team while scoring less than 10
- Arkansas upsetting TCU in double overtime after collapsing in the fourth, with regulation ending on a blocked FG
- UGA barely scraping past Nicholls St
- SDSU up over Cal at half by 10
- Grambling State up 21-3 at half over Arizona
- CMU beats OKST on a Hail Mary lateral that turns out shouldn't have happened by rule but the result stands
Around the ACC:
- WF beat Duke with a 7 freshman offense and as many long runs as they had all last season (24-14)
- Clemson needed to play 4 full quarters against Troy (30-24)
- FSU handled Charlestown Southern but Derwin James was carted off with a knee injury (52-8)
- GT beat Mercer (35-10)
- NCST lost by 3 to ECU (30-33)
- Pitt edged out PSU by 3 (42-39)
- UNC stumbles early but pulls away from Illinois (48-23)
- Louisville spanks Cuse with Lamar Jackson setting the ACC single game total yards record (62-28)
- Miami beat FAU (38-10)
- VTech commits 5 turnovers and loses the Battle of Bristol (45-24)
- UVA in the process of losing to Oregon (37-13)
