I find this whole thing fascinating and an unintentional consequence of the "4 game exception" redshirt rule.
Basically it appears the Houston QB is shutting it down after four games while healthy and redshirting for 2019. He will then come back as a grad 5th year and has noted returning to Houston is "absolutely" a possibility. Based on the article it appears this was a family/player decision and not a coaching decision. Houston is 1-3 and his Dad has noted he doesn't want a wasted year.
Seems like the player is holding the team and coach hostage ... my guess he is over center at a high P5 school next year.
