Browsburg, Indiana athlete/running back Toks Akinribade is a bit of a physical specimen. This has been well-known for some time. He's actually overshadowed largely by a younger teammate at his school, because his junior quarterback, Hunter Johnson, is a truly elite player. Nonetheless, I watched Akinribade at the St. Louis leg of the Rivals Camp series and he is impressive.
We've got him listed at 6-feet, 205-pounds and, yes, Boston College did offer in the recruiting process.
If you've visited his profile yet then you may have noticed that Jim Reid was his lead recruiter when he was on the Hawkeyes staff. I'm under the impression that Indiana had still been recruiting Akinribade, and while he's remained committed to Iowa through that (and still is), it's going to be interesting to see how much of a player Boston College becomes with the three-star prospect.
I don't think there's been any movement yet, and it's the dead period so they're a little limited, but this is a kid that BC really, really liked a lot and I can tell you that at least some that I've spoken with are thrilled about the possibility of him coming back in play.
Running back is still a need for BC, of course, and this kid would absolutely be a take and probably as high as any other player currently on the Eagles' board. We'll see how it plays out.
According to his profile Akinribade is scheduled to officially visit Indiana right after the dead period (Jan. 15-17) and Iowa the week after that. Guessing we'll know a lot more soon, and I'll try to catch up with him. Just know that he will be a target, in all likelihood.
