Recently someone asked about Lucas Niang and the most I can say is that Boston College believes they're in the conversation. They hope they're at the top of his list, but I don't think that anybody -- analyst, coach, otherwise -- really knows where he is leaning. His statements -- the few times he gives them -- sometimes seem to run a pretty good range on a spectrum but BC is a constant.
Updates on current commitments
BC's local commitments are the ones that are latest to begin their senior seasons. We'll be providing updates on how their seasons are going. They're just starting up now so that'll be a good source of info on how things are going.
Ray Marten has started his season, Bryce Morais and Max Richardson are going strong, Ethan Tucky has been making big contributions as have the Texas guys.
I'm hearing that BC has been in regular contact with Bryce Morais and I've gotten the impression that the Eagles feel pretty good about that situation. There is always going to be a little consternation when someone so far from your school takes other visits, but it's not something they have done a lot of and I think his trip to BC over the summer with family did a lot for both sides.
Some of the local high school coaches in Ohio that BC has a relationship with have apparently mentioned Tucky to the BC staff and have passed along word (first-hand accounts) that he's looking really good in early-season action.
Tucky is planning to be an early enrollee for BC, which means he will arrive at the Heights in January. That'll be big and he's certainly a strong candidate to play early.
Quick 2016 note
Spoke with an additional source who believes that it's possible that BC adds more than just two guys from here on out.
"Might be able to add a few, hopefully," this particular source told me. Again, nothing set in stone, but interesting.
