I've mentioned that BC will continue to recruit some players committed elsewhere (such as A.J. Dillon and Blake Gallagher, among others). I've also mentioned that in the big picture Boston College would like to add a running back. I'm still hearing that, and I think there is a preference for a bigger running back. I've asked a source a couple of times now and I don't think the really fast kid from Florida, Chauncy Smart, has a committable offer from BC. Not really sure where that came from. Not saying the kid made it up, but I'm pretty sure he does not have an offer as of right now. He doesn't really fit the bill for what they're looking for at running back. They really need somebody who can be an every-down back.
All that said, here are some top remaining targets:
DB Isaiah Wingfield, 6-feet, 185 pounds, Lawrenceville, N.J.
Boston College is his only power conference offer but he's got a lot of others. He has good size and I think they like him on a personal level and feel like he would be a good fit. Would they take him right now? Not 100-percent sure, but possibly. In the long run they may well.
DB Jason Pinnock, 6-feet, 180 pounds, Windsor, Conn.
Reported on him a little earlier this year. UCONN and several FCS schools have offered. He's got a verbal offer from BC, but not sure he has a written offer yet.
DB D'Andre Hicks, 5-foot-10, 167 pounds, Punta Gorda (Fla.) Charlotte
He just visited Boston College last week, as we reported, and he told me after the fact that the trip went very, very well. He's not as big as some of the other DB's they're recruiting but he's a good athlete. Three-star recruit, offers from USF and Marshall.
DB Josh Turner, 6-feet, 180 pounds, Delray Beach (Fla.) American Heritage School
Turner is only a two-star prospect but he's got a nice offer list that includes BC, Wisconsin, Purdue, Iowa, UCF and several others. He was mentioned by a source this week as a guy the staff feels pretty good about. I think he'd be near the top of their board overall.
DB Jadan Blue, 5-foot-10, 163 pounds, The Peddie School
Originally from Baltimore (Md.) Mt. St. Joseph's as a Class of 2016 recruit, Blue is going the prep school route but is still on the Eagles' radar.
RB Antwione Sims, 5-foot-11, 204 pounds, Zephyrhills (Fla.)
He's the kind of bigger, every-down back the coaching staff is supposedly looking for, but he's coming off a major injury and I'm not sure he's guaranteed to play in 2016.
DT Ellison Hubbard, 6-foot-2, 252 pounds, Loganville (Ga.) Grayson
Hubbard would add more size on the defensive line and would round out a pretty good class in the trenches on that side for the Eagles. They like where they stand with him. Indiana, Memphis, Minnesota, Pitt, Rutgers, Southern Miss and many more have offered.
DL Eddie Wilson, 6-foot-4, 285 pounds, Hoboken (N.J.)
Don't know too much about him but apparently he's one of their top defensive line targets in addition to Hubbard.
