The 2nd and 2 end around to Smith just now was ridiculous. After first aligning in a run formation, the team shifted into more of a spread shotgun look. A wide receiver was ENTIRELY uncovered. He signaled for Flutie and the predictable run play got called anyways. It doesn't matter if Troy Flutie or Jeff Smith is at quarterback, you won't win games if you can't convert an absolutely in-your-face obvious pre-play read into a gain of at least 20.
