Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances has been good to the Boston College football program and it doesn't seem like the pipeline will be slowing down anytime soon. That's how things look on Wednesday, as one of the school's top prospects has once again committed to Jeff Hafley's program.
Durell Robinson, a 6'1, 193-pound running back from the school, has announced his verbal commitment to the Eagles.
The three-star (5.7 Rivals Rating) prospect is ranked the No. 12 player from Maryland's 2023 class regardless of position and the No. 29 running back in the nation.
Eagle Action can confirm that Robinson will be a running back once he arrives at the Heights.
Robinson has been on commitment watch for many weeks now. He officially visited Georgia Tech, Boston College, and Virginia Tech on consecutive weekends in June and actually had a commitment plan lined up before ultimately postponing.
The Rivals FutureCast was 100% in favor of Boston College going into the announcement.
Aazaar Abdul-Rahim has served as Robinson's area recruiter while Savon Huggins, the position coach, has also been heavily involved in recruiting the high three-star running back.
In mid-July, Robinson told Rivals.com's Adam Gorney that he was sticking with BC, VT, and Georgia Tech as the teams he would choose between.
“One of my other teammates from last year, Jude Bowry, is a freshman there now and he told me how it is up there. He loves it and we’re really close friends so if he loves it I know I would too and the coaching staff is real family. Coach Savon (Huggins), coach Aazaar (Abdul-Rahim) especially coach Aazaar being from my area so we get along really well," Robinson told Gorney, from that same recruiting update.
In two games for St. Frances this fall Robinson has rushed for 294 yards on 35 carries with two touchdowns. He also has one reception for nine yards.
