There is no room for interpretation here. 4th and 19 was not when we lost. 4th and 19 happened all game. Our DBs (Harris) were awful all game and without exception.
Run, run, run, pass lost this game. That's when it happened. With decent field position and will less than a 1 TD lead we played like the game was in the bag.
And we did this knowing 1) we hadn't played particularly well in the defensive backfield and 2) we don't have a strong punter or punt team and 3) GT had time outs 4) they loaded the box knowing we would run, and 5) our offense had been both hot and 6) moving the ball well with balance.
Tell me one reason it made sense to run, run, run, pass there?
We DID lose yards, we did not burn clock, we did not get all their time outs, we did not give them bad field position.
We're not a great team. We cannot afford to just pass on an entire offensive series. And that's exactly what we did. We took one offensive series and we just said, "Nah, not interested."
Sdaz has gotten us to a place where we are recruiting better that we did with Spaz, and that is all you can say for him.
He will not learn, nor change.
