...to discuss.
I know, the comments are coming, so I'll start, "CC, you're such a narcissist."
At any rate, every week of the season since I've obsessed with college football I do my own rankings and name my own national champion. I'm posting these here as I'm pretty sure they'll spark some decent debates, and we don't have much of anything else to talk about so why not.
Notes:
1) No one on probation is eligible for anything under my system.
2) I heavily favor win totals, and tend to give teams with better records a huge bump assuming they play within 1-2 amount of teams ranked in the top 25 at the date of their games. If that's even, I tend to favor teams who play more P5 teams along the way.
3) I tend to favor teams who should have gotten a crack at the title assuming their house is in order in my view. Comparable schedule, mitigating factors in any losses accumulated, etc.
What I think will generate some debate:
1) Nick Saban has won only 1 national title at Bama.
2) Pete Carroll's USC teams failed to win any national championships. They had one, but it was vacated - an NCAA decision I agreed with 100%.
3) Ped State is permanently ineligible until they serve the 4 year death penalty they should have received - so, you know, forever.
4) Teams choosing to play Ped State get no credit for a win, and are automatically ineligible for ranking if losing to Ped St. This does not apply to B1G opponents since they have no choice.
So, anyway, here we go:
