Talk about it in The Eagles Nest
Abdoul Kouyate is a player for BC fans to keep an eye on.EagleAction.com tells you why.
Kouyate had 22 sacks last year.
Last year Kouyate was a 6-foot-3, 230-pound weakside defensive end from Bronx (N.Y.) Cardinal Hayes. Now he's 245 points and set to attend Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph's.
He'll get more exposure this fall but his performances over the past year have already served to get his name out there. Last year alone he had 22 sacks.
BC's obviously got very limited space but the Eagles have been in contact with Kouyate.
"I got in contact with Boston College right after my sophomore year going into my junior year," Kouyate said. "They've been interested in me. I went to the camp and I performed very well in the one-on-ones. I deflected a few passes. I was able to keep up with those smaller, shiftier running backs. I tested very well.
"I think they see that I'm a big guy and I guess they just see a lot of potential."
Kouyate recently visited Pitt and Syracuse is another school that has been in frequent contact.
The yet to be ranked defensive end told EagleAction.com that BC sees him as a bit of a hybrid defensive end, which is probably good for his chances at an offer because the Eagles appear to be full at linebacker.
