Talk about it in The Eagles Nest

Milton Academy's Michael Silva believes the summer camp season has him "in a good place" and closer to offers.

Silva knows he needs to show more aggression this year.
The 5-foot-9 cornerback camped at Boston College, Penn State, Pitt, Purdue and Duke, and said that the experience of traveling, working out and talking to coaches was "awesome."

"I'm really happy with all the feedback I got," Silva said. "I'm in a good place. Everything that I need to do is in my control."

Silva is referring to what he needs to do in order to receive offers.

"All the coaches loved me on the field at camp," he explained. "But when they went back and watched my film they saw I wasn't aggressive enough and that I wasn't getting in on enough tackles on game film. If I can go play in the box and make more plays that way it will be good. So I'm happy about the camps because coaches were really pleased. I ran 4.0 shuttles. I ran a 3.9 shuttle at Penn State. I know what I need to do now. I just need to be aggressive."

Steve Addazio has not met with Silva personally, at least at length. They have had words here and there, but that's something Silva wants to do.

"I've just been really, really close with Coach (Kevin) Lempa," Silva said. "I call him all the time. I'm in really close contact with him. I've talked to Coach Don Brown. I went back for another (camp) session because he wanted to watch me perform individually. So they're just about to offer."

If BC's coaches like what they see from Silva early this year an offer could be coming. If that happens, Silva would be thrilled.

"I've always loved Boston College," Silva said. "It's a great school. It's local. You can't really beat a Catholic school. I went to Boston College High for a couple of years so you can't beat that. The football's great, the education's great, and the people there love football just as much as I do. So you can't beat that."
