I don't post much; especially voicing harsh opinions, but I am really concerned about "some" of the things which are clear trends with football.

I was a season ticket holder from my freshman year('76) through my son's senior year ('11). I attended the game with both my boys, and former BC roommate. We sat very near our old season tickets in CC.

To my two points, many of you have been harping on for nearly three years. Clock and game management IS a real issue which isn't being addressed. The abysmal clock management and lack of preparation with a two minute drill at the end of the game had it's roots in the game's previously needed offensive TO's needed on first downs.

I am not a football guy, but to witness this ineptness in person without the filter of TV really has me concerned that my whole section knew what should have been happening on the field, while the players did not. Who know's what the coach was communicating to them, but even if Daz knew how to theoretically deal with the clock the communication clearly broke down -AGAIN. It's difficult for me to believe, however, Daz knew what he was doing, because as Eaglegrad CC pointed out, clock management and play calling are completely tied together .

So, for a run play into the line to be called, it tells me Daz really didn't understand what was happening. For him to use an excuse ( and I didn't hear this in any quotes), that he didn't trust the inexperience or ability at QB to throw the ball couldn't fly. The situation dictates what is the most plausible approach to get as many shots at the end zone as possible. This doesn't take into account the poor OL play, so that too becomes a reason NOT to run - or at least neutralizes it.

My point is this: there were a number of people around me (with me) that were saying this game's ending, and all that has led up to it (poor clock and game management) is enough to seriously consider letting Daz go. At some football schools, this may be true. It's Monday, and I have heard no serious talk of Daz being fired, but certainly the lack and depth of his understanding and preparation is a legitimate concern.

I agree with some of you that Bates needs to step in to require a change in the OC role. The O is horrible. It reminds me of the '78 team.

I still support Daz, but I'm a Pollyanna type guy, and these kids on the offensive side of the ball are not getting the proper coaching. If that's evident to a moderately astute football fan like me, at this point, doesn't Bates (and Daz) have responsibility to make a change of some sort -in season?

Thanks.
