For the first time in months I glanced at our commitment list after reading JR's 8/4 Rundown about who is still left on the coaches board for 2017.

I had stayed away from viewing, because looking at these lists has left me perplexed and disappointed. Once again I am underwhelmed at the 2.5 star average with the "remaining" targets under the radar, no other P5 offer, MOSTLY 2 star types. Shouldn't the uncommitted target list look more like 3 and 4 stars, rather than guys still hoping for big time offers - or rather just any P5 offer?

Seriously, forget the facility issue for a moment. And forget last year's disaster.

What the hell?

Wasn't Addazio suppose to be a great recruiter?Wasn't that one of the reasons we hired him, because he was suppose to marry his understanding of BC to prospective national quality football players?

Forget the player development questions, and the offensive philosophy, and game management questions right now, too. Do any of us really think his recruiting is acceptable? I don't see his recruiting performance being anything close to acceptable being ranked at eighty something surrounded by mid major type schools.

I'm a guy who has always viewed the star system as being somewhat flawed and skewed, but it has to be given some credibility when you look at historical perspectives, and the success of programs attracting 3 plus athletes. I also recognize we have had our share of success with 2 star players that have been vetted by our coaches for "upside".

If I had believed, or at least had hoped ( I was not an Addazio supporter prior to his hiring) Daz had the ability to turn what Spaz left around, I would have had to go with the premise that recruiting better classes was one of the first critical foundational components which needed to be upgraded.

This has not happened. Period.

And by looking at the lists of who the staff continues to go after, for 2017 and beyond, I'm not sure they are even aspiring to get 3.5-4 star players.

I want to focus on the upcoming season in a positive way, and I will leave my recruiting skepticism out of my posts moving forward as we get closer to kickoff and watching championship caliber football at the Heights.
