First off, this entire daisy chain of endless back and forth is a clear sign of boredom in the off season but also an important topic of discussion. So let's keep it going, shall we?
What are our realistic prospects going forward? I'm not in the know about this nor do I live anywhere near Boston, I'm not even a BC grad, but I care about who we play and seeing this team get exposure. Having said that, we can't hope to book more than 1 marquee OOC game a year, right? Look at some of the big dogs in college football and the proof is there:
Oklahoma- 2015: Akron, at Tennessee, Tulsa
2016: Houston, Louisiana-Monroe, Ohio State
Nebraska- 2015: BYU, South Alabama, at The U, Southern Mississippi
2016: Fresno State, Wyoming, Oregon
Arizona State- 2015: Texas A&M (Texas Kick Off Classic), Cal Poly, New Mexico
2016: Northern Arizona, Texas Tech, at UTSA
What's the answer? How does BC generate better OOC competition? Frankly, I'm at the point where we keep what we have, book MAC level opponents in key mid western states like Michigan or Ohio as an alternative to FCS schools going forward, and push hard for that one big P5 game a year if we can. Thoughts?
