With BC likely (but not guaranteed) to take one more quarterback from the Class of 2017, and the camp season perhaps the best time for that to be decided, here's a glance at where things stand with the top targets on their board.
Tate Haynes - It will be interesting to see whether the San Diego (Calif.) Central Catholic quarterback plans to camp at Boston College this summer. That camp season, which begins June 18 for BC, could be his best (only?) opportunity to move into the 'take' category as a quarterback.
Drew McQuarrie - Loeffler reportedly loves his size and thinks he could potentially polish up and become a legitimate guy, but he may need to prove something at camp. Later on in the year he could show that he's progressing in a way that's to their liking.
Brandon George - The 6-foot-1, 190-pound dual-threat three-star from Oklahoma hasn't been mentioned often but he lists an offer from Boston College and it appears to be, on paper, one of the offers that he'd consider if he's like most players. Wake Forest is his only other Power Five conference offer and he seems to fit the bill for what Scot Loeffler is looking for. He can run and pass, and although his size is a bit of a limitation, BC is obviously willing to explore him as a possibility anyways.
Conclusion: They'll look at some local guys, some guys who don't have verbal "offers" currently, at camp. Right now there's not one obvious guy that's trending ahead of the others and the most likely quarterback for them. They do have some options on the radar, but I don't think they're in a hurry. They've 'waited out' most other schools as they try to fill this spot, and there aren't a ton of options on the board with how quickly quarterbacks make their decisions.
