Some have indicated in various other threads the bad play calling against Maine. I thought it make sense to start a thread on it...
My thoughts are the play calling was not bad. As always BC (Daz) wants to establish a ground game and overpower the opponent. Certainly this will be true with an inexperienced O-Line in its first game as well a QB making his first start. I found some of the short passes that were called later on on 3rd down were effective in not stretching Wade in his first start yet allowing the drive to continue.
In the press conference on Monday, Daz seemed upset that Wade did not try to throw it long. He praised the Thad Smith, Sherm and Elijah Robinson for their speed. Against Howard, we might see some longer passes if Wade can get some time. I think this will happen as Wade will need to experience in long bomb if we use it against FSU...
