BC recently became the fourth school to offer Southlake (Tex.) Carroll 2017 safety Robert Barnes, the son of former Oklahoma player and Dallas Cowboy Reggie Barnes. Duke had offered just moments prior. Oregon State was his first offer and Nebraska was No. 2.
Barnes told me that his mother actually wanted to attend Boston College when she was coming out of high school in Oklahoma (just a student, not a student-athlete) so she's got a very high opinion of the school.
BC has also offered his teammate at Carroll, Obi Eboh, and that's how they found out about Barnes.
Coleman Hutzler has been very energetic recruiting Texas. It's very early for Barnes and he plans to camp at USC, TCU, Texas, Oklahoma, etc., but at the very least the Eagles are putting in a lot of work early down there.
