*** Felt like BC made some critical improvements in the last week. Lots of guys had a chance to contribute. Dennis Grosel with a couple of long touchdown passes and contributed to BC's explosiveness. Eight passes of 50+ yards, sixth in the country. Powerful run game and an explosive throw game. People are selling out to the run. Beat a rival and improved. Great bounceback from week before.

*** Playing Florida State, a talented team, watching them on tape the last two days they have playmakers on offense and big, physical front, talented guys on defense. 315-320 pound guys up front. Tremendous on back end. Great tailback. Three great receivers. Will be a challenging game for Boston College. Excited about being at home and believes they will carry some momentum into the game.

*** BC is playing with a lot of physicality and confidence, "which is super positive".

*** Get dinged up this time of year, the nature of football. McDuffie dressed for game last week. Full steam ahead of practice this week. Will evaluate at the end of the week. Ongoing deal. Guys are banged up from the game but not sure if residual or longer lasting effects.

*** Hopeful Idrizi will be in good shape by the end of the week. Hard to judge how much progress a guy makes in a week. If same amount this week suspects he will be in good shape but that's unknown.

*** Had tried to get Grieco into the game. Combination of length, size, speed, good accelerator, good tackler. Loved him in preseason camp but dinged leg up. When freshman misses couple of weeks in camp it really gets hard on you. They get behind. Hard to get back in that rotation. Took a while to get him back to feeling good. Loved what they saw on tape. Really a lot of promise, exciting player, made real plays last couple of weeks.

*** Notes Luchetti started as a tight end. Really talented. Didn't like him, loved him. Moved to defense, wanted more of a pool at d-end. Natural position is at tight end. Excited to be there. 265 pound guy, very athletic, great hands. Really good blocker.

*** Some former walk-ons have made great contributions recently.

*** BC has some very physical games ahead.

*** Asked about how planning is impacted by Taggart firing, shakes his head and said that doesn't mean anything to him. Just coaching his team. Can just work with what he sees off the film. Expects the best from Florida State.

*** Trying to figure out where BC can attack the FSU defense. This is the biggest, most physical front they have played. Saw a couple of good ones. This is the biggest and most physical, "beyond a doubt". Running back can hit a home run from anywhere on the field.

*** Talked a bit about Welles Crowther, how guys can appreciate what he represented and what it's about. One of the most special, emotional things to be a part of. Every year they educate new guys, watch the ESPN features. Compelling story.

*** Take a little pride in playing football in the cool, crisp weather in the Northeast. "The way football was meant to be played".

*** Defense really stepped up last week, made some key plays and stops. Speaks a lot to momentum, after turnovers, it didn't swamp them. Sensed a confidence and a determination. Had to overcome that, another important thing for them to do.

*** Wants to be balanced. Last two wins just overpowered teams. Last week explosive in play action game, just happened they ran on teams.
