Again, no inside information but the coaching changes seems to be in line with all the other moves since the season ended.
Addazio acted as the Offensive Coordinator last year. Fitch was blamed for the unimaginative play calling but Addazio knew better. When his Offensive Coordinator from Temple was brought in, he was told it was his offense to run. Neither Fitch or Addazio would overrule his play calling. As a reward to Fitch for his loyalty, he was moved to another role temporarily giving him time to find another position. Same with Albert being kept around until recruiting for 2016 ended this week. Again, probably fair to all concerned and also less disruptive to recruiting.
With Pasqualoni and Al Washington taking over the defensive line, we get a steady hand with head coaching and NFL experience with one and a young motivated coach with recent experience as a defensive lineman at BC with the other. Both are known as excellent recruiters.
With Reid Gunnell moving back as wide receiver coach, we get a young man who is a motivator and role model who likely can really relate. Frank Leonard becoming the assistant head coach and Ricky Brown becoming the recruiting specialist as well as quality control, we have the potential to really pick up our recruiting next year if we have a winning season.
If Addazio can truly let the new Offensive and Defensive Coordinators do their jobs and not interfere, and instead focus on administration, motivation and recruiting, we could have a good season in 2016. I really believe he actually is doing a good job of assembling his staff.
