Clearly the team has issues to fix but I am not overly pessimistic yet. We have won 3 games we were favored in, and lost the 2 that we weren't, and arguably should have beat Duke. I think we can still go bowling either legitimately or with the 6-6 exception (Wake, Cuse, NCST, and UL are all flawed teams we have a chance to beat). A bowl bid would be very helpful this year due to the extra practices and reps - which could set up nicely for next year with a presumably good D coming back. It won't be easy by any means but here's what needs to happen in my opinion:

1) Let Don Brown continue to work the Defense. Don't change anything except for maybe practice more on creating turnovers. They are really fun to watch.

2) Pick a QB. I hate 2 QB systems, for the same reasons we've all been rehashing. I have an opinion on who it should be but I want the offense to develop some semblance of an identity. With our D, it doesn't need to be anything ground breaking. Let the QB get comfortable, not looking over his shoulder. Comfort builds confidence, Confidence and reps build success, and so on.

3) Take off the training wheels on O. Sink or swim, let's get aggressive. It doesn't even mean passing more or anything like that. Reduce deep delayed handoffs and start hitting the holes quick and hard; run more bootlegs and get the OL moving with traps and counters. The OL certainly has plenty of room left to improve but they aren't stagnant either - let's get them reps and give them a chance to succeed. If not, oh well...but let's take some risks and have a chance to be rewarded (I know this is Daz' biggest weakness).

4) Install a 2 minute drill. It really seems like we don't have one. Many of the remaining games on the schedule are going to come down to the wire because of the way our team plays. It would be nice to have something ready for when we need to score with 5 min or less on the clock.
