As we've reported BC is targeting both Patrice Rene and Damon Hayes, Rutgers commits out of Episcopal in Virginia and Wise in Maryland, respectively.
I'll touch on this point more in a later post, but BC is getting Don Brown out as much as possible on the road during this period of coaches doing recruiting tours. The defensive side of the ball, along with running back, is the prime focus. So I have to believe that those guys will at least get school visits from their recruiters and Brown given that they're big priorities.
Spoke with a source today who reiterated that BC has always stayed in touch with Rene, or at least those around him, because BC's got a good relationship with the staff at Episcopal, which has allowed their foot to stay in the door. Coming out of Canada he's someone they've known about for a long time.
Rene visited BC in the spring.
As for Hayes, someone close to BC's end told me today that they really don't know much about his interest at this point. They really like his size and his potential to be a physical defensive back, either a corner or a safety. With coaches on the road since Sunday the BC staff have not met to discuss everything. So while it seems like they like him, or at least a couple of coaches familiar with him do, he's still not really widely known within the program.
His high school has produced a lot of Division 1 defensive backs and they like the development there.
