Some important info below.
Spoke with a source about dual-threat quarterback Anthony Brown. They said this is a kid they really like. BC actually knew about him before anyone else because I believe he camped last year. Ryan Day was the OC then and there was really no rush. Of course, BC signed two quarterbacks from the last class.
With the switch from Day to Todd Fitch there was obviously a big change in roles on the staff and that slowed their pursuit of quarterbacks. Now that Fitch has settled in to his new position he's identified some new quarterbacks he likes. The offer to Brown is one they wanted to be very careful with because they knew the interest there was very strong on his end. With Brown looking to make a decision in about the next month I think BC is the likely landing spot. So for now it looks like he's the most likely candidate to fill their quarterback need in '16.
Sources also confirm that they think it's BC or Duke for Koby Quansah right now. I'd say it's looking like it's about 50/50. Duke is in on some other pretty big-time linebackers including four-star Cameron Brown who visited over the weekend. So Quansah will probably be made to feel like he's an even bigger priority for the Eagles than the Blue Devils.
Finally, Danny Dalton. I've got a pretty strong opinion on the situation and I think BC is recruiting as though they are not going to have Dalton. They cannot leave themselves in a vulnerable position so they are continuing to recruit players at the position. My guess is he does not end up at Boston College and that's my gut. I'm fairly confident about it and I'm also confident there are plenty of other similar options available.
Dalton plays a position where BC happens to have plenty of options. You also want to continue a good thing. One of the things BC has really benefited from under Steve Addazio's watch is their classes are close-knit and very optimistic about the future. It's a bit of a dark cloud hanging over things when one of your commits is out there flirting with every other school that approaches them. You also don't want to set a precedent for making it seem like you're okay with that flirtation.
