Based on what I've gathered it appears that BC is no longer pursuing former Penn State defensive back Myles Hartsfield. He's now an in-state prep player who is looking to enroll ASAP for next semester. Hartsfield recently took an official visit to Ole Miss.

I can't say with certainty what level of a priority kid Hartsfield is for the Rebels. He did like his visit but there aren't a lot of precedents for Jersey kids ending up in Oxford, Miss.

Hartsfield was really looking forward to having the BC opportunity and I think if the situation had been given the okay from higher ups then he probably would have landed at the Heights. Tough situation and one that played out after much deliberation. I can tell you that based on what I've heard it's not that there were obvious red flags, rather, a lack of information about some things of interest contributed to the parting of ways. Sounds like the school wanted to play it cautious absent everything they felt they wanted and needed to know.

Not sure where Hartsfield goes from here but that's one less potential immediate contributor that could have helped next season. Compounded the need in the secondary a little bit. Mike Palmer helps to address that a little bit but while those two might be comparable long-term Hartsfield was probably more advanced and ACC-ready.
