The Danny Dalton decommitment was not a surprise. I don't want to go into too many details but I can tell you that the people that matter saw the writing on the wall. They may have been able to keep him in the long run but the drama was not worth it, given how they like to put their recruiting classes together, the bonds they like to form, the precedents they like to set and avoid, re: visiting other schools, etc.
Several times he kind of dropped news on everyone, including BC ... Being so excited about Alabama, visiting Rutgers, visiting Penn State ... all unexpected, didn't really keep everyone in the loop. The recent news was not entirely from Dalton's end. It was expected, anticipated, and even though BC didn't really "drop him" I believe they did make it clear that they couldn't continue operating that way.
